The ball has started moving and I am getting calls from companies and recruiters that have openings for sales positions. Some of them sound good but they are either a longer commute (I can’t imagine driving more than 1.5 hours to work.) or once they hear how much I am looking for, I can hear the pain in their voice. I can’t help it if I have a high price tag. Blame it on my managers that saw the value in my work. I know that some of my co-workers in the sales group were making more than me. As I should have guessed, most of the money in technology is still in Silicon Valley. Then there is always the option of working remotely for a company based outside of the Bay Area and managing this territory. That sounds like something I would be good at. Of course these things are negotiable to some extent depending on total compensation and the companies existing market.

Good thing is that I have not hit desperation yet and have some time to keep looking for a good fit.
